Blog 4: The Allegory of the Cave Summary

The story will check to see if humans know the truth about the world. There are humans kept chained in a cave. They believed in images that passed by created by the sun behind them, that they called the fire. All day long they would gaze at the shadows and believe that the shadows talked back because of the echo created. A prisoner freed was hurt by the sunlight; it took him time to slowly get adjusted to the light. He then learns how the real world and wants to share it with his friends. They reject him because he no longer sees the world the way they do. This tale is an allegory of how damaging awareness is.

  2. This summary is well written. I think that you missed a very important part in your first sentence. You should have added if they know the truth outside of their own world instead of saying the truth about the world. Leaving out that part changed up the whole meaning of the sentence. I think that you add a unneeded detail such as “they called it fire.” You missed a word in the sentence” he then learns how the real world and wants…” I think you should have added “real world is and” besides those things I pointed out this summary was over all great!
    GOOD JOB!!
