Blog 7: Revise Practice Test 2 or 3

Around the world there are people getting sick  everyday. They depend on the hospital to make them feel better, but what if you get rejected because you don't have any financial way of paying the hospital back? What if you don't get the attention you need because you don't have any heath care. More public hospitals should open so more people can get the care and attention they need, because we don't want another incident happening like what happened to Esmin Green in "The women who died in the waiting room" by Jeneen Interlandi.
Daisy is an immigrant in the united states, she has no documents or heath insurance whatsoever. Daisy's daughter Angelique had an asthma attack and daisy immediately rushed her to the hospital. The hospital was packed with people and none of the doctors payed any attention to Angelique because she was uninsured. All Angelique needed was an asthma pump but they denied her that because she didn't have any health insurance and her mom couldn't pay for it. Eventually Angelique died in the waiting room because of the ignorance and neglect of the hospital.
John is an U.S. resident, he is a very healthy man and he thought that he didn't need health insurance so he never got it. John, is a single man with no kids and no wife and he's a very hard working man.  A few months later got a tumor in his stomach, they had to do a surgery on him to get it removed, since John didn't have any health insurance he had to pay for the surgery with his own money, the surgery was  very expensive and left John almost broke. John couldn't go back to work for a while so he wasn't getting any money. John needed medicine to ease the pain from the surgery and to keep the tumor away, since John wasn't working he couldn't afford to buy what he needed, the tumor eventually came back and John couldn't afford another surgery so john ended up not being able to eat because of the tumor and pain and died.
This should be allowed to go on any further. What happened to our human rights? should we not receive proper care just because we don't any way of paying it back. Since when did health care become something that you should pay for, it should be free. No one should be denied the right to see a doctor if they are ill.

Blog 6: Personal Directions for The CATW

1. On the day of the test I need to sleep for about 9 hours.
I will drink some coffee
In the test I will start by reading the article and then after I read it I will read it again and on the second time I will start underlining or high lighting the main Idea of the article, important ideas, and words and anything else I don't understand. After that I will start free writing anything that comes to my mind about the article. After I finish free writing I will then read everything I wrote and pick out anything that might help me write the essay. I will then after I do that I will begin the write the essay on a scrap piece of paper, so if I have any mistakes or If I want to change anything I can change it and it won't look sloppy on my final essay. During the essay I will remember to include name of the article as well as the name of the author, I need to have the paragraphs well developed There needs to be an opening paragraph and 2 body paragraphs and a conclusion. When I fishing writing the essay and I read it and see that everything I want is in there, check if there is any miss spelled words. After I finish checking my essay I will then start writing the final essay, making sure not to make any mistakes so It can look nice and clear. My hand writing needs to very clear and people need to able to understand it. When I finish writing the final essay I will review it to see if everything is correct and to see that I didn't miss anything, or didn't miss spell any words. If all Is good I will be the with the essay and I will give it in to the professor.
2. During the test I need to be careful with  no copying anything from the article because I end up doing that and then I get my opening paragraph wrong. I also need to make sure I don't miss spell any words like writing, I usually end up spelling it like this "Writting". I need to also make sure I put in the name of the article and the name of the author too, because people need to see where I am getting all of this information from, I also need to put if I agree or disagree with what the article is saying. I also I have problems developing the essay, like I use the same example twice but slightly different but it still ends up being the same thing.
3. What I plan to do to help myself overcome these problems that I have during the test, is that I am going to write more essays and see if the problem is still there, I will also have a dictionary with me so I can see how to spell the words that I always end up miss spelling.

CATW Practice 2

There are thousands of people that get sick everyday. They depend on public hospitals to threat them and make them feel better. Most of the time the hospital is packed with so many people that have no money, documents or health care, have to wait to get treated. Since the early 1960's hospitals started to pick people  with money over the people undocumented and the poor ones, when large mental institutions began to close. I believe that more public hospitals should open and threat everyone equally, we don't want another incident like what happened to Esmin Green in "The women who died in the waiting room" by Jeneen Interlandi.
A bum was found in the streets of New York, half dead. The bum was beaten by a bunch of teenagers that were just looking for trouble. The bum was found laying on the floor covered in blood by a women that was passing by, she immediately called  911 and the ambulance rushed to his aid. When they got to the hospital the bum was put on hold because he was poor and had no way of paying the hospital for making him better. The bum bled in a chair in the waiting room but no one seemed to care about him, eventually the bum died in the waiting room  , waiting to be treated.
This should be allowed to go on any further. What happened to our human rights? should we not receive proper care just because we don't any way of paying it back. Since when did health care become something that you should pay for, it should be free. No one should be denied the right to see a doctor if they are ill.

Revision of CATW 1

Allowing U.S students to go to school from pre-k till 12th grade for free and then charging them it's unjust,  but allowing illegal citizens to pay less than a student that came to the country legal is just wrong. The Illinois House recently passed a bill that allows illegal citizens in the U.S. to pay the same amount that legal citizens do. I don't believe this is fair because illegal citizens don't pay taxes and they didn't come to the country the right way, and a legal citizen who obeys the law should not be charged more.

The tuition rate for an U.S. citizen that is out of the state and wants to attent college in Illinois is 13,906 and the tuition rate for a illegal citizen in Illinois is $5,302. Pablo and Maria both want to go to college in the U.S. Pablo is in the U.S. Illegaly and Maria is both a U.S. citizen and resident. Pablo only pays 5,302 for his tuition in the school while Maria who is out-of-state has to pay 13,906. Maria shouldn't have to pay a tuition that high because she always payed her taxes, she's never disturbed anyone and is a good person. So why does pablo get to pay less than her, when he isn't even an U.S. resident and doesn't pay taxes.

There are many students in the U.S. who pay cheat tuition for some colleges, even though they are not U.S. citizens. The Illegal students still get tuition benefits just like every other student who's parents pay taxes and have been citizen of the U.S. for a very long time. Rosio who is an U.S. immigrant living in Illinois didn't even need to try and become a citizen to attent college there because she still payed less money that Justin who was coming from Texas. I don't think any student should be deprived from their education, I believe everyone deserves a chance to learn and persue their career, but I don't believe that U.S. immigrants should be allow in to college, and worse, but allow to pay the same amount as a resident of Illinois.

I believe that the bill that was passed down should be removed because U.S. Immigrants break the law by entering the wrong way, should not be allow the same treatment as a U.S. citizen.

Blog 4: CATW Practice 1

Allowing young people that are illegal in the u.s. the right to pay in-state tution in illionois colleges and universities. In "An Education citizenship" By chicago tribune it says that the illinois house recently passed a bill that allows non- U.S. citizens to pay for in-state tuition in illioois colleges and universities. I don't agree with "Will we chanrge legal from other states more tuition than we charge the non-citizen citizens"
Freshman at the university of illinois in Urbana-Champaign the difference is between $5,302 the amount instate tuition and the 13,906 out-of-state rate. It's not fair that the immigrants get to pay less than a U.S. citizen that wants to go to college in Illinois.
Another student from another state might not want to come to illinois to study because is not fair that they have to pay more.
The practice is troubling because it dreprives citizens -of the nation and states- of what they have a reasonable right to expect. Many U.S. citizens expect the same rights and respect as the next person, but now that  the bill has been passed down, they will be upset to find out that they dont get the same right as every other person there.
The bill that Illions house recently passes that states " That Young people that are in the U.S. Illegally are allow to pay the istate tuition rate in Illinois", It's not fair for every other citizen out there that wants to join a college/university in Illinous.

Blog 3: Response to "Hype"

Advertisements are everywhere you can see, they are becoming very toxic and polutant  in north America.
Now a days we see around 3 billion ads that are displayed, and 3 million radio commercials, and 200, 00 tv commercials are showed daily.

People don't seem to notice the ads because they are so used to them being there, so they usually just ignore them.
Everytime you walk out of ur house or just sulf the internet there are ads everywhere you look, or in every page of the internet that you go to. They have ads on your phone, they have ads on the gas pump, they have ads when you drive by to visit grandma, they even have ads on the popular pages like facebook, google, etc..
I feel like ads are taking over and people don't seem to notice because they just walk by them or drive pass them and just ignore them. They don't do anything about them. For example me and my friends were walking by to the mall and there was so many ads everywhere, Like in the buildboards and inside the stores, and people walked by them like it was nothing, like they didn't even seen them.
Ads are also in like very popular pages, like facebook, and people still ignore them. For example I was with my bestfriend and we where going on facebook and there was so many ads inbetween the news feed, and on the sides there are ads that people can click to like, and some people do like them, it's crazy how people just don't seem to notice all the ads around us.
About 12 billion or more ads are seen and displayed 3 million commercials on the radio are heard and 200, 000 tv coomericals are showed daily.

Summary of The Allegory of The Cave

In the allegory of the cave, people are chained
and they are kept in a cave. They have never
been outside, they never seen each others faces
Just the shadows that each other has.
One of the prisoners was set free and he saw the outside world
He liked it so much he wanted to show his other friends
but his friends where afraid of leaving the cage because
they where so used to being in there, and accustomed to
the darkness in there.
In the end Glaucon was able to understand what Socrates was saying
about we all having a cave that we don't like to leave
but we need to go out and see what else is there outside of our cave.

Blog 1 : Hype.

Advertisements have become the most pervaltent and mind pollutan in north america.
Everyday about 12 billion ads are displayed, 3 million radio commercials, and more than 200,000 tv commercials are showed.
Adverticements are wverywhere your eyes can see or you can hear.
I agree with the statemement " You can fill your car with gass, and theres an ad on the nozzle" , Because there are ads everywhere, you can drive from your home to the local market and you will see about 100 ads or more on your way there. And Walking to the park you will see many ads.
Surfing the web you will have so many popups and many ads in every page you go to like Facebook and google are full of ads.
Ads are taking over but the people don't sseem to notice because they are so used to having them around, so people usually ignore the ads or jsut close the page where the ad was in.
Adverticements are everywhere you can hear or see, and in north america about 12 billion of ads are being displayed, 3 million radio commercials, and more than 200,000 tv commercials are viewed daily.
